Our Mission Statement

To Empower Taiohi To Achieve, Contribute and Lead The Advancement of Māori

Tai Wānanga provides an opportunity for communities to design a learning framework that contributes to the advancement of Māori.

Our Culture

We incubate learning in a culture of:

TAI NUI: Purpose & High Expectation

TAI KAHA: Perspiration & Hard Work

TAI ARIKI:
Achievement & Goals Focused

Our Points of Difference

  • All Taiohi have an ITLP opposed to a timetable.
  • Learning is the constant and time is the variable.
  • Focus is on the whole person:mental, physical, emotional and spiritual
  • Focus for all tauira is aimed towards a Career Development Plan.

Our Future

In November 2010 Tai Wananga was approved to establish campuses in Palmerston North and Hamilton.

In 2013 we received roll growth approval to establish a further four campuses by 2016.
